1920’s Blue Metal Chair

$595.00

c. 1915-25 Antique American blue painted steel four-legged stationary "Davis"  exam armchair fabricated by or for the Frank S. Betz Co. in Indiana. The contoured seat and backrest are comprised of 18 gauge sheet furniture steel, pressed, formed and welded. The chair likely contained a hair-filled padded adjustable head rest removed long ago. The tubular steel legs are reinforced with welded joint cross braces. The chair was originally offered in "washable" white, brown or red mahogany, or American walnut.  This chair is very sleek, stylish and simple in design. The bent tubular steel arms are original and intact, structurally sound and stable.
